Dual Xeon 20-core tower for professional workloads

The HP Z840 workstation pairs two Xeon E5-2687W v3 processors at 3.06 GHz, delivering 20 cores for design, rendering, engineering and data-heavy applications. 128 GB of DDR4 memory keeps large projects responsive during multitasking. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate deployment. Buyers who need a single-socket platform or consumer-grade graphics should look elsewhere.

Quadro K600 drives certified professional visuals

The NVIDIA Quadro K600 with 1 GB DDR3 is certified for CAD, content creation, rendering and multi-display setups, providing stable drivers for professional software. A 512 GB SSD accelerates application and project-file access, while a 1 TB HDD adds capacity for everyday professional work. This combination covers speed and storage without requiring extra drives. Users who require higher GPU memory or modern compute APIs will not be served by this card.

Tower chassis with LGA 2011-3 dual-socket support

The full-height tower uses dual LGA 2011-3 sockets at the maximum two-processor limit, offering internal room for the installed storage and expansion cards. Standard workstation I/O handles typical peripherals and displays for daily professional use. The system arrives new and tested for key functions. Builders needing rackmount form factors or newer socket standards cannot use this chassis.

Questions about this item

Can the 128GB DDR4 memory be expanded beyond the current 128GB?

The Z840 supports up to 128GB DDR4 memory, so the installed 128GB already reaches the maximum capacity.

Which component will throttle first when the dual 10-core Xeon E5-2687W v3 CPUs run at 3.06 GHz continuously?

The 20 total cores at 3.06 GHz will hit the thermal envelope of the tower chassis before the 128GB DDR4 or 512GB SSD become bottlenecks.

How loud are the fans when the Quadro K600 and both Xeons push sustained load all day?

The workstation uses temperature-controlled fans that spin up under the combined heat of two 10-core Xeons and the Quadro K600, producing audible but office-tolerable noise.
