Mobile Workstation 18 Inch

The HP ZBook Fury G1i is an 18 inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX processor with an AI Boost NPU. It ships with 64 GB of DDR5 memory across two occupied slots and a 1 TB SSD. The 18 inch WQXGA IPS panel runs at 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate. Windows 11 Pro and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity come pre‑installed in a Meteor Silver chassis.

Suits GPU Heavy Workflows Not Thin And Light Buyers

This machine targets engineers, data scientists and creators who need an NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 GPU with 24 GB of video memory for simulation, rendering or AI development. The 7.76 lb weight and 1.06 inch profile make it impractical for daily commuters or anyone who prioritises ultra‑portable form factors. Buyers who need more than 64 GB of RAM should look elsewhere because only two free slots remain.

24 GB GPU Video Memory Decides Fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 24 GB of video memory on the NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000. Workloads such as large‑model training, complex CAD assemblies or high‑resolution video editing rely on that frame‑buffer capacity. If your professional applications require more GPU memory, this configuration will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

How do I add memory to the four DDR5 slots and which step is often missed?

Two of the four DDR5 slots are already occupied by the 64 GB that ships with the system; the two free slots accept additional DDR5 modules, and the step people miss is seating each module fully until the retention clips click on both sides.

What maintenance will the 8-cell lithium-polymer battery need over time?

The 8-cell lithium-polymer battery is rated for 8.37 hours of use and will gradually lose capacity; plan to replace it when run-time no longer meets your workflow.

At what point does the 165 Hz WQXGA panel become the limiting factor during sustained GPU loads?

The 165 Hz refresh rate on the 2560 x 1600 IPS panel caps frame delivery before the NVIDIA RTX Pro 5000 with 24 GB video memory reaches its ceiling in extended sessions.
