Mobile Workstation with 14-Core i7 and RTX A1000

The HP ZBook Power G9 combines an Intel Core i7-12800H processor with 14 cores and a maximum turbo of 4.8 GHz with 32 GB of DDR5 4800 memory and a dedicated NVIDIA RTX A1000 GPU equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory. A 256 GB SSD holds the Windows 11 Pro operating system and applications. The 15.6 inch anti-glare display renders 1920 by 1080 resolution at 250 nits.

Suited for CAD and 3D modelling.

Engineers and designers who rely on ISV-certified drivers for CAD, BIM or light 3D work will benefit from the RTX A1000 and 32 GB of system memory. The 14-core processor handles multi-threaded compilation and simulation tasks efficiently. Users who need more than 256 GB of internal storage for large project libraries or who require a higher-colour-gamut panel for colour-critical imaging should consider other configurations.

256 GB SSD capacity defines the storage ceiling

The single 256 GB solid-state drive determines how many projects, models and applications can reside on the laptop without external drives or cloud offload. With 32 GB of DDR5 4800 RAM and an 8 GB GDDR6 GPU, compute and graphics memory are generous, but the fixed 256 GB boot volume is the specification that decides whether this unit fits a given workflow.

Questions about this item

What DDR5 memory speed must an added module match to work with the i7-12800H?

The system runs DDR5 at 4800 MT/s, so any extra module should be DDR5-4800 to keep the memory controller stable.

Will the RTX A1000 8GB GDDR6 drive a legacy 1080p monitor over HDMI without scaling issues?

The GPU outputs 1920 x 1080 natively, so a 1080p display will show a 1:1 pixel map with no stretching.

How can I confirm the NVIDIA RTX A1000 is active after installing the latest driver?

Open Device Manager, expand Display adapters, and verify NVIDIA RTX A1000 appears with 8 GB dedicated video memory.
