HPE Refurbished
A dual-port 10Gb Ethernet adapter in FlexibleLOM form factor with SFP+ slots for optical fibre, delivering 20Gb aggregate throughput for ProLiant Gen8 servers
The HPE 684218-B21 is a refurbished 10 Gigabit Ethernet card that fits a FlexibleLOM slot. It provides two SFP+ ports with an aggregate throughput of 20 Gb using a single-chip PCIe x8 design. The card targets ProLiant Gen8 rack and scale-out servers needing high-bandwidth connectivity.
This adapter suits administrators upgrading or repairing compatible HPE ProLiant Gen8 systems that have an available FlexibleLOM bay and require dual 10 Gb optical links. It will not work in servers lacking a FlexibleLOM slot or in platforms limited to 1 Gb or copper-only interfaces.
The single specification that decides fit is the FlexibleLOM form factor combined with SFP+ optical ports on a PCIe x8 host interface. Only systems built for this exact slot type and optical media can use the card.

The 560FLR adapter uses the FlexibleLOM form factor and is designed for HP ProLiant Gen8 Rack and Scale-Out servers with a compatible FlexibleLOM slot.
Insert the card into the dedicated FlexibleLOM connector on the system board, then secure it with the retention latch; the latch is often left unlatched, causing link failures.
The dual SFP+ ports require compatible SFP+ optical transceivers and fibre patch cables, which are consumables that must be replaced if damaged or when changing link distances.
