The HPE 741727-001 is a 45W Smart AC adapter built for compatible HPE laptops. It delivers regulated power through a 4.5mm connector. The unit is supplied new and ready for immediate use as a direct replacement or spare charger.

Suits owners of matching HPE notebooks

This adapter fits HPE devices that specify a 45W Smart input with a 4.5mm tip. Buyers whose laptops require a different wattage, a different connector size or a non-Smart power protocol should look at another model.

No bundled accessories or software

The package contains the adapter only. No cable ties, travel pouch or driver disc are included. The Smart handshake is handled by the laptop firmware, so nothing extra is required to start charging.

Questions about this item

Will my HPE notebook charge if it only accepts a 4.5 mm barrel connector?

Yes, the adapter terminates in a 4.5 mm plug that matches the DC-in jack on compatible HPE models.

Can this 45 W brick power an older HPE laptop that originally shipped with a lower-wattage charger?

It will supply up to 45 W; the laptop draws only what its charging circuit requests, so a lower-rated system will charge normally.

How can I confirm the Smart handshake is active after I plug it in?

The system BIOS or HPE power utility will identify the adapter as a genuine 45 W Smart unit once the centre-pin communication completes.
