HPE Aruba AP-305 (RW) JX936A dual-band access point

This indoor access point supports IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with a maximum data rate of 1300 Mbps on 5 GHz and 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. It operates as a non-Instant, controller-managed device and accepts 15.4 W 802.3af PoE input.

Organisations using a mobility controller

This model suits IT teams that deploy controller-based wireless architectures and require dual-band coverage with DSSS and OFDM modulation. It is not intended for environments that need Instant clustering, cloud-managed operation or 802.3at PoE+ power delivery.

15.4 W 802.3af PoE power requirement

The unit draws power through a standard 802.3af PoE connection rated at 15.4 W, so the switch or midspan injector must provide at least that budget on the connected port. If the infrastructure only supplies lower PoE classes or lacks PoE entirely, a separate power source or injector will be necessary.
