Aruba 3810M 48-port Gigabit switch

The JL677A is a 48-port Gigabit Ethernet switch in the Aruba 3810M Series. It provides 48 ports at 10/100/1000 Mbps plus four SFP/SFP+ uplinks for aggregation. PoE+ support powers compatible devices such as IP phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras. Energy-efficient design reduces operational costs.

Upgrade from non-PoE or smaller switches

This switch replaces non-PoE edge switches or smaller port-count models when you need to power endpoints through the network cable. The jump is worth it when deploying IP phones, cameras or access points that require PoE+ and when stacking simplifies management across multiple units. It also suits networks moving from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit at the access layer.

SFP+ uplink and stacking constraints

The four SFP/SFP+ uplink ports limit total aggregation bandwidth to the speed of the installed transceivers. Stacking relies on dedicated stacking modules or uplink ports, so available uplinks decrease when stack links are formed. PoE+ power budget is finite; high-density PoE+ deployments may exceed per-port or total power limits. No 10GBASE-T copper uplinks are provided.
