Dual-radio Wi-Fi 6 indoor access point with 2.69 Gbps peak rate, 4x4 MIMO, 2.5 GbE and 1 GbE ports, plus Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee for IoT
The HPE Aruba Networking AP-515 is an indoor unified campus access point built for high-density deployments. It uses 802.11ax technology to serve multiple clients simultaneously across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The dual-radio design supports 4x4 MIMO on 5 GHz and 2x2 MIMO on 2.4 GHz. It is suited for offices, schools and venues where many mobile and IoT devices connect at once.
The access point delivers a maximum combined data rate of 2.69 Gbps using channel widths up to 160 MHz on 5 GHz and 40 MHz on 2.4 GHz. Each radio handles up to 256 associated client devices, with typical active-client limits lower than the association maximum. Four integrated downtilt omnidirectional antennas provide 4.2 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz and 7.5 dBi at 5 GHz. Peak throughput per band reaches 4.8 Gbps on 5 GHz and 575 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.
A 2.5 GbE Smart Rate port and a 1 GbE port provide wired backhaul with link aggregation or failover options. Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee radios are integrated for IoT beaconing and sensor connectivity. The unit carries a UL2043 plenum rating for installation in air-handling spaces. Management requires HPE Aruba Networking Wireless OS or Instant OS 8.6.0.0 or later for unrestricted operation.

The E0 port negotiates up to 2.5 Gbps; Cat5e is rated for 1 Gbps, so the link will fall back to 1 Gbps unless you upgrade to Cat6 or better.
In the Aruba Instant OS dashboard, check the radio status page — it should show four spatial streams on 5 GHz and two on 2.4 GHz with the reported antenna gains of 7.5 dBi and 4.2 dBi.
The access point ships with internal antennas only; ceiling-rail or wall-mount kits are sold separately.
