Workgroup colour laser printer

The HPE Color LaserJet CP-4525N is a network-ready colour laser printer built for office workgroups that need consistent output at speed. It delivers up to 42 pages per minute in both black and colour at 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. A maximum input capacity of 600 sheets reduces reload frequency during high-volume runs. Ethernet connectivity with Gigabit support integrates directly into existing wired infrastructure.

Replacing slower or single-function units

The jump is worth it when a team moves from a lower-volume desktop printer to a shared device that handles 42 ppm colour throughput without a separate print server. It upgrades environments still running 100Base-TX hardware by adding 1000Base-T capability alongside legacy 10Base-T support. The 800 MHz processor and HP ImageREt 3600 keep complex graphics jobs moving through PCL 5, PCL 6, PostScript 3 and PDF 1.4 streams. Buyers who need integrated scanning, fax or wireless direct printing should look elsewhere.

Rack or shelf deployment with wired LAN

The unit fits on a standard shelf or printer stand and requires only a power outlet and an RJ-45 drop to join the network. USB 2.0 provides a local fallback for direct PC connection or walk-up printing from a flash drive. No toner cartridges ship with the device, so a full set must be sourced before first use. Drivers and user guides are downloaded from the manufacturer website rather than included in the box. The 90-day depot warranty covers hardware defects after installation.

Questions about this item

How much desk space and clearance does the CP-4525N need for its 600-sheet input capacity?

The printer holds up to 600 sheets in its standard trays, so allow enough front and top clearance to pull out the cassette and load paper without obstruction.

Which network port do I plug the Ethernet cable into for the 1000Base-T connection?

Connect the supplied network cable to the RJ-45 port on the rear; the printer supports 10/100/1000Base-T automatically.

When will the fuser and rollers supplied in the maintenance kit need replacing?

The unit ships with a new maintenance kit installed — fuser, pickup rollers, separation roller, transfer roller and pressure roller — so the next replacement interval starts from first use.
