Enterprise colour laser printer

The HPE Color LaserJet Enterprise M553DN prints colour and monochrome output at up to 40 ppm with a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. It connects via Ethernet and USB 2.0, and supports automatic duplex printing on paper sizes from 3 x 5 in to 8.5 x 14 in. A 4-line dimmable colour LCD provides status and menu control.

Teams needing networked colour output

This model suits offices that require fast, duplex colour printing over a wired network and can manage toner procurement separately. Buyers who need wireless or mobile printing, larger paper capacities, or a unit supplied with starter toner should evaluate other devices.

Ethernet connectivity

The sole network interface is a wired Ethernet (RJ-45) port supplemented by USB 2.0 for local connection. If your environment requires Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or direct mobile printing protocols, this printer cannot meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 650-sheet input capacity or look for a larger tray?

The 650-sheet capacity handles typical office volumes; add optional trays only if daily output regularly exceeds that amount.

What does the 40 ppm rating mean for everyday colour documents?

It delivers up to 40 colour pages per minute after warm-up, so a 20-page report finishes in roughly half a minute.

How does the USB 2.0 port limit direct printing speed?

USB 2.0 caps the data path at its native rate, which is slower than the internal engine but still fast enough for single-user print jobs.
