HPE RDX 2TB USB 3.0 Internal Backup System

This HPE RDX system provides a 2 TB removable disk cartridge for internal installation in workstations and servers. It connects via USB 3.0 and includes Continuous Data Protection software for automated backups. The dock accepts cartridges from 320 GB up to 2 TB without hardware changes.

Upgrades from tape or fixed drives

The removable cartridge design replaces tape drives or fixed internal disks by offering drag-and-drop file access and rugged off-site storage. Performance reaches up to 360 GB per hour for faster backup windows. Forward and backward dock compatibility protects the investment when moving to higher capacity cartridges later.

Suits small businesses needing simple rugged backup

Organisations that want an affordable, easy-to-use disk-based solution with portable media for disaster recovery will benefit. Buyers who require network-attached backup targets, higher native capacities than 2 TB, or non-USB interface options should consider alternative architectures.

Questions about this item

What drive bay size does the HPE E7X52A RDX internal backup system need?

The unit fits a standard 5.25-inch half-height bay, the same opening used for optical drives in most workstations and servers.

Which step is most often missed when installing the RDX 2TB USB 3.0 internal system?

Connecting the internal USB 3.0 header cable to the motherboard or add-in card before securing the dock; without it the cartridge will not be recognised.

Replace the cartridge once it reaches its 2 TB capacity limit or if the dock reports read/write errors during backup jobs.
