The HPE J9281B is a 3.3 ft copper cable with SFP+ connectors permanently fixed to each end. It provides a low-cost 10-Gigabit link between compatible network ports without separate transceivers. The 100 ohm impedance and 1.31 nsec/ft delay suit short rack or cabinet runs. It is built for commercial network environments using ProCurve or standards-based SFP+ equipment.

Replaces separate transceivers and patch cords

This cable removes the need to buy two SFP+ modules and a fibre or copper patch lead. The jump is worth it when the link distance stays within 3.3 ft and the hardware accepts passive direct-attach cables. It is not for links that exceed the fixed length or for gear that requires active or optical modules.
