Target Switch Compatibility

This HPE X362 1110W power supply is designed for the HP 5500-HI switch series. It delivers 56 V DC output at up to 1110 W from a 115-240 V AC input. Network administrators use it to add or replace PoE power in compatible chassis.

Integrated PoE Output

The unit converts AC mains to -56 V DC and includes integrated Power over Ethernet circuitry. This allows the switch to power attached devices such as access points or IP phones directly through data cables without separate injectors.

Proprietary Form Factor

The supply uses a proprietary HPE form factor measuring 1.6" x 3.3" x 10.2" and weighing approximately 3.75 lb. It fits only the designated switch bays; builders using other chassis or third-party racks cannot install it.

Questions about this item

Does the JG545A#ABA have any user-serviceable parts such as a replaceable fan or fuse?

The power supply is a sealed proprietary unit with no user-serviceable components; any internal fan or fuse replacement requires a full module swap.

At continuous 1110 W output what thermal or electrical limit is reached first?

The supply is rated for 1110 W across the 115–240 V AC input range at 50/60 Hz; sustained operation at that load stays within its specified capacity.

How much heat and fan noise does the X362 produce when running 24/7 in an HP 5500-HI switch?

At full load the unit converts 1110 W to -56 V DC PoE power; the internal fan speed scales with temperature, so a warm rack aisle will increase audible airflow.
