Compact 12-port PoE+ switch

The EX2300-C-12P is a managed Layer 3 desktop switch with 12 RJ45 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and two SFP/SFP+ uplinks. Eight ports deliver IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ power for phones, cameras and access points. Fanless operation makes it suitable for quiet office or retail environments.

PoE budget and uplink limits

The 124 W PoE budget caps simultaneous PoE+ draw across the eight powered ports, so full 30 W per port cannot be sustained on every connection. Uplink speed depends on the chosen SFP or SFP+ module, which is not included, and the two slots share the same physical space.

Capacity for small converged networks

MAC tables hold 16,000 entries and jumbo frames up to 9,216 bytes. Layer 3 routing supports 1,500 ARP entries, 512 IPv4 prefixes and 2,048 multicast groups. Up to 4,093 VLANs can be configured with 2,044 active at once. Virtual Chassis can link four units into one logical switch. Builders needing more than eight PoE ports, higher PoE budget, or built-in 10GBASE-T uplinks should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick this 12-port model or a version with more uplinks?

This unit has 12 RJ45 ports and two SFP/SFP+ uplinks; other EX2300-C variants change the uplink count or speed, so choose based on how many fibre links you need.

What does the 124 W PoE budget deliver in a live rack?

The 124 W budget is shared across the eight PoE+ ports, so you can run eight 802.3at devices or a mix of 802.3af and 802.3at gear until the total draw hits 124 W.

How fast are the two SFP/SFP+ uplinks in practice?

Each uplink runs at 1 GbE with an SFP module or 10 GbE with an SFP+ module; the port speed is set by the optic you install.
