Fan module provides back-to-front cooling for EX3400-24P, EX3400-48P, EX3400-24T and EX3400-48T switches
This Juniper Networks fan module provides back-to-front airflow for the EX3400 series. It pulls cool air into the chassis and exhausts heat from the front panel. The unit suits network administrators deploying EX3400-24P, EX3400-48P, EX3400-24T, or EX3400-48T switches in standard hot-aisle or cold-aisle layouts.
The module replaces a failed or missing fan tray in compatible EX3400 switches to restore proper thermal management. A swap is warranted when the original unit develops bearing noise, reports a fault LED, or cannot spin up under rising internal temperatures. It is not suited for front-to-back airflow racks or non-EX3400 chassis.
The fan unit slides into the dedicated slot on supported EX3400 models without tools. Temperature sensors in the chassis govern automatic speed control, ramping rotation only when heat loads demand it. This behaviour keeps acoustic output low during typical operation while freeing rack space otherwise needed for external cooling ductwork.

Yes, this fan module is compatible with the EX3400-24T, EX3400-48T, EX3400-24P and EX3400-48P models.
Slide the module into the chassis slot until the latch clicks; the unit pulls cool air from the rear and exhausts it out the front.
Replace the module if the fans run constantly at high speed, produce unusual noise, or the chassis temperature sensor reports overheating.
