  • Layer 3 managed switching for advanced routing
  • 48-port density maximises rack space efficiency

48-port 25GbE switch with 100GbE uplinks

The HPE Juniper Networking QFX5120-48Y-AFI2 is a managed 1 U switch delivering 48 ports of 25GbE connectivity and eight 100GbE uplink ports. It provides Layer 3 routing capability with up to 2 Tbps throughput and latency as low as 550 nanoseconds. This platform suits data-centre fabrics and enterprise aggregation layers demanding high port density and low latency.

Replaces lower-density 10GbE

The jump is worth it when existing 10GbE uplinks saturate under growing east-west traffic or when server NICs have already migrated to 25GbE. It is not for buyers who require Power over Ethernet, out-of-band management via dedicated console servers, or port counts exceeding 48 25GbE interfaces in a single rack unit.

Questions about this item

What rack height does the 1 U QFX5120-48Y-AFI2 occupy?

The switch uses a single rack unit, so it fits in any standard 1 U slot without additional brackets.

What is the correct airflow direction for the AFI2 model during installation?

AFI2 indicates back-to-front airflow; install the unit so cool air enters the rear and exhausts out the front.
