Juniper SFP module for Gigabit Ethernet

This Juniper SFP mini-GBIC module provides a single 1000Base-LX interface for Gigabit Ethernet links. It fits compatible HPE Juniper Networking switches and routers that accept standard SFP transceivers. Network engineers use it to extend fibre connections across campus or data-centre links. The LC duplex connector ensures a secure fibre patch-cord attachment.

Low-power operation with standard LC duplex

The transceiver draws minimal power while maintaining a stable 1000Base-LX signal over single-mode fibre. It operates silently because it has no moving parts or active cooling. Heat output stays low enough for dense chassis installations without extra airflow planning. The LC duplex port simplifies cable management in crowded patch panels.

Questions about this item

How is the SFP-1GE-LX module installed in a switch or router, and which step is often missed?

Insert the transceiver into an SFP port until it clicks, then connect an LC duplex patch cable. People often forget to remove the dust caps from both the module and the cable before linking them.

What maintenance or replacement will the SFP-1GE-LX need over time?

The optical interfaces should be cleaned with a lint-free swab and isopropyl alcohol whenever signal loss appears. Replace the module if errors persist after cleaning or after a link failure.
