Monochrome multifunction printer for office

The HPE LaserJet Pro M521DN combines printing, copying, scanning and faxing in a single monochrome device. It prints and copies at up to 42 pages per minute with a 1200 x 1200 dpi output resolution. A 650-sheet input capacity and automatic duplex printing support continuous double-sided output. Ethernet connectivity integrates the unit directly into a wired office network.

Replacing single-function printers

Offices relying on separate printers, copiers and fax machines can consolidate devices and reclaim desk space. The jump is worthwhile when print volumes exceed the capacity of personal printers and when automatic two-sided printing is needed to reduce paper use. The 8-second first-page-out time keeps short jobs moving without long warm-up delays.

12500-page toner bundle and 650-sheet tray headroom

The included generic CE255X cartridge yields approximately 12500 pages, covering extended print runs before a replacement is required. The 650-sheet input tray handles large batch jobs without frequent reloading. Copy resolution reaches 300 x 300 dpi and fax transmission runs at 33.6 kbps. Colour printing and wireless connectivity are not supported.

Questions about this item

What desk space is needed for the 521 model with its 650-sheet paper input capacity?

The M521DN requires a surface that can hold a 650-sheet cassette plus room for the ADF lid to open fully; allow at least 50 cm depth and 45 cm width for comfortable access.

Which cable must be connected first during setup of the Ethernet-enabled M521DN?

Plug the supplied RJ-45 network cable into the printer and your switch before powering on; the device obtains an IP address automatically so the control panel can display it for driver installation.

When will the included CE255X toner need replacing at 12500 page yield?

The bundled generic CE255X cartridge is rated for 12500 pages at 5 % coverage; monitor the supply-status page and order a replacement when the counter approaches that figure.
