400 GB SAS 12 Gbps 2.5-inch enterprise SSD with included Smart Carrier tray
The HPE MO0400JEFPA is a 400 GB solid-state drive built for 2.5 inch SAS 12 Gbps bays. It uses MLC flash and ships with zero power-on hours, making it suited for servers that need consistent read and write endurance.
The included Smart Carrier caddy slides directly into compatible HPE drive cages without extra brackets. The carrier handles hot-plug insertion and provides status LEDs so administrators can identify the drive while the system stays online.
The bundled tray eliminates the need to source a separate carrier for 2.5 inch bays. It also preserves the drive’s original firmware reporting through the carrier’s management interface, simplifying inventory tracking and warranty validation.

The drive uses MLC NAND rated for enterprise write workloads; the 400GB capacity provides the over-provisioning needed for steady-state performance.
The drive draws power from the backplane and runs within standard enterprise SSD thermal limits; the included Smart Carrier helps airflow in the drive cage.
A 12Gbps SAS backplane or HBA is required; the drive connects through the standard 2.5" SAS connector on the supplied Smart Carrier.
