24-port smart-managed switch

The HPE Instant On 1960 JL806A is a 24-port smart-managed Layer 2+ Ethernet switch built for small to mid-sized business networks. It provides 24 Gigabit copper ports plus two 10GBase-T and two SFP+ uplink ports for high-speed aggregation. Cloud and mobile app management allows configuration onsite or remotely without dedicated IT staff.

Stacking replaces standalone management

Up to four 1960 switches can be stacked and managed through a single IP address using local or cloud-managed stacking modes. The jump is worth it when port count grows beyond a single unit and administrators want one logical device instead of separate configurations. Non-PoE and PoE Class 4 or Class 6 models can be mixed in the same stack.

Uplink limits define aggregation capacity

The switch includes only two 10GBase-T and two SFP+ uplinks, so total 10 Gbps upstream bandwidth is capped at four ports. Heavy server or storage traffic that exceeds this uplink capacity will create bottlenecks regardless of the 24 Gigabit access ports. Long-distance fibre links require compatible SFP+ transceivers not included with the switch.
