Silver rack-mountable network switch with 48 front ports and one expansion slot

HPE Networking Instant On

HPE Networking Instant On 2930M 48G PoE+ 1-Slot Switch JL322A

SKU CH-5K6G-P8FSY

Managed 48-port Gigabit switch with 44 PoE+ ports, 1440 W budget, and four SFP uplinks for rack mounting

  • 44 PoE+ ports power phones and cameras directly
  • 1440 W budget feeds high-density access points
  • 176 Gbps switching capacity handles heavy traffic
  • Layer 3 routing with OSPF and RIP built in
  • 1U rack design fits standard cabinets cleanly

Switch for PoE-dense access layers

The HPE Aruba 2930M JL322A is a managed Layer 3 switch with 44 PoE+ RJ-45 ports and four combo Gigabit SFP slots in a 1U rack enclosure. It targets networks that power phones, cameras and access points from the wiring closet without separate injectors.

Sustained forwarding with deep buffers

A 176 Gbps switching capacity and 112 Mpps throughput keep wire-speed performance steady under continuous load. Latency stays at 3.1 µs for 1 Gbps traffic and 3.4 µs at 10 Gbps, while the 9220-byte jumbo frame limit and 32768-entry MAC table absorb bursts without head-of-line blocking.

Rack-mount build with modular uplink slot

The 17.4-inch deep chassis fits standard cabinets and uses an internal power supply that delivers the full 1440 W PoE budget. A single expansion slot accepts optional uplink modules, so fibre or copper uplinks can be added later. Buyers needing more than 44 powered ports or 10 GBASE-T uplinks must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How loud is the fan noise when the 1440 W PoE+ budget is fully used all day?

The chassis includes an internal power supply and meets CISPR 22 Class A emissions limits, indicating fan noise stays within standard rack-environment levels even at full PoE load.

Which SFP transceivers do I need to populate the four combo Gigabit SFP slots for uplink connections?

The four combo ports accept standard Gigabit SFP modules; insert the transceiver type that matches your uplink media (copper or fibre) and the switch will detect it automatically.

Will my existing 10/100 Mbps endpoints negotiate correctly with the 44 PoE+ RJ-45 ports?

Each RJ-45 port supports 10/100/1000 speeds and auto-negotiates, so legacy 10/100 devices connect and receive PoE+ power without manual configuration.
