Aruba 510 Series AP-515 Wireless Access Point

The Aruba AP-515 is a dual-radio wireless access point built for indoor environments that need high-density coverage. It operates on 2.40 GHz and 5 GHz bands with four internal antennas and supports a wireless transmission speed of 5.40 Gbit/s. MIMO and beamforming technologies are included to improve signal quality.

Suited for high-density indoor deployments

This unit fits offices, schools and retail spaces that can mount hardware on ceilings, walls or rails and power it through a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet PoE PD port. It is not for buyers who require outdoor-rated enclosures, external antenna connectors or a 10 Gigabit uplink.

5.40 Gbit/s maximum wireless transmission speed

The stated peak throughput of 5.40 Gbit/s is the headline figure that determines whether this model matches the capacity planning for a given site. Verify that this ceiling meets the aggregate client demand before purchasing.

Questions about this item

What does the 5.40 Gbit/s wireless speed mean for actual throughput?

That figure is the combined peak PHY rate across both radios under ideal conditions; real-world throughput will be lower due to overhead, interference and client capabilities.

How does the 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port limit wired backhaul?

The 2.5 GbE uplink caps total traffic leaving the AP at 2.5 Gbit/s, so aggregate wireless throughput above that will be bottlenecked by the wired link.

What mounting hardware is needed for the 7.9" square form factor?

The unit includes mounting brackets for ceiling, wall or rail installation; its 1.8" height and 1.79 lb weight fit standard drop-ceiling tiles and wall boxes.
