Practical limits of the 1GbE RJ45 and SFP interfaces

Each of the eight copper ports negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps, so legacy 10 Mbps devices share the same switch as modern endpoints. The two SFP slots accept 1 GbE transceivers for fibre links but do not support 10 GbE modules. Buffer memory is 1.5 MB, which constrains burst absorption on congested ports.
