1600W Flex Slot Platinum Supply

This HPE power supply delivers up to 1600 watts in a Flex Slot form factor that is 25 percent smaller than previous Common Slot units. It carries 80PLUS Platinum certification for up to 96 percent efficiency and supports hot-plug replacement without tools. Compatible platforms include HPE ProLiant Gen10, ProLiant 300 Gen9, Apollo 2000 and Apollo 4000 series servers.

Sustained-load efficiency

At continuous operation the unit maintains up to 96 percent efficiency, lowering overall server power draw and reducing waste heat in the data centre. The Platinum rating ensures this level holds across typical load ranges rather than only at peak. Redundant design allows the power subsystem to keep running if one module fails.

Thermals and power draw

Higher efficiency translates directly into less heat produced per watt delivered, easing cooling demands in dense racks. Hot-plug capability lets technicians swap a unit while the server stays online, avoiding thermal spikes from emergency shutdowns. Low-halogen materials meet environmental requirements without affecting electrical performance.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power draw should I expect from the 1600W Platinum unit running continuously?

The 80PLUS Platinum rating means up to 96% efficiency, so waste heat and input power stay low even under sustained load.

Which server chassis or backplane must I already have to install this Flex Slot supply?

It fits HPE ProLiant Gen10, ProLiant 300 Gen9, Apollo 2000 and Apollo 4000 systems that accept Flex Slot hot-plug modules.

Will this 1600W module share load cleanly with older Common Slot units still in the same rack?

No — Flex Slot and Common Slot form factors are not interchangeable, so they cannot operate together in the same power zone.
