HPE Windows Server 2022 Datacenter Kit

This HPE P46123-DN1 reseller option kit provides a 16-core licence for Windows Server 2022 Datacenter edition. It is intended for organisations that run virtualised workloads or containerised applications on HPE infrastructure. The software supports hybrid cloud scenarios and includes Secured-core OS capabilities for multilayer protection. Language options cover English, French, Spanish and an additional locale.

Verify core count and edition before ordering

Confirm that the target host is licensed for the 16-core Datacenter entitlement and that the existing hypervisor or bare-metal deployment matches the edition requirements. Check that the server hardware is on the HPE Windows Server 2022 compatibility list and that the current firmware baseline satisfies the operating system prerequisites. Ensure the licence key format matches the reseller option kit distribution model.

Software thermals noise and power are host dependent

Thermal output, acoustic profile and power consumption are determined entirely by the underlying server hardware running the operating system. Windows Server 2022 itself introduces no independent cooling or power requirements beyond the host platform specifications. Plan capacity and cooling based on the physical server configuration and workload density rather than the licence kit.

Questions about this item

What does the reseller option kit include and is any additional media required?

The kit supplies the licence for Windows Server 2022 Datacenter covering 16 cores; installation media must be sourced separately from Microsoft.

How do I decide between this 16-core Datacenter kit and other core-count options?

Choose this P46123-DN1 when the physical host has exactly 16 cores; each kit licences the core count shown, so match the kit to the server’s total cores.

What does the 16-core entitlement mean once the software is installed on an HPE server?

It licences all 16 physical cores on the host, permitting unlimited Windows Server virtual machines and the full Datacenter feature set including Storage Spaces Direct.
