HPE 1.6TB SAS Self-encrypting SSD

This 1.6TB SAS solid-state drive is built for mixed-use server workloads that demand hardware encryption. The FIPS 140-2 validated controller protects data at rest without host CPU overhead. It fits small-form-factor bays in HPE ProLiant and Apollo platforms. Organisations handling regulated data can deploy it without a separate key-management appliance.

SFF bay connector simplifies hot-plug maintenance

The single-port SAS interface connects directly to the backplane, so drive replacement does not require cable routing or system shutdown. Self-encryption runs transparently during normal read and write cycles, keeping latency predictable for database and virtualisation workloads. Buyers who need dual-port redundancy or larger capacity tiers will need a different model.
