Directional antenna with RP-SMA connector

This HPE S1F86A antenna attaches to a wireless access point through its RP-SMA connector and focuses the signal in a single direction. The directional pattern concentrates coverage where it is needed instead of broadcasting evenly in all directions.

Suits point-to-point or long-corridor deployments

Installers who need a focused beam for building-to-building links or narrow indoor spaces will benefit from the directional gain. It is not for environments that require wide, omnidirectional coverage around the access point.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the RP-SMA connector on the S1F86A to my access point, and what orientation mistake should I avoid?

Screw the RP-SMA plug onto the access point's RP-SMA jack until finger-tight; the directional radiation pattern means you must point the antenna toward the target coverage area rather than leaving it vertical.

What ongoing maintenance does the S1F86A directional antenna require after installation?

Periodically check that the RP-SMA connection remains snug and inspect the radome for cracks or water ingress; no firmware updates or consumable parts are involved.
