Hubbell HBL2643 Locking Connector L8-30R 30 A 480V AC

Industrial Locking Connector L8-30R

The Hubbell HBL2643 is a straight-body locking connector rated for 30 A at 480 V AC. It uses a NEMA L8-30R configuration with two poles and three wires for single-phase power. The nylon housing carries an IP20 rating and is impact resistant. This device suits maintenance teams and installers wiring high-voltage equipment in dry indoor locations. It is not for buyers who need weather-sealed or shrouded inlets for outdoor or wash-down environments.

Screw-Terminal Wiring and Cable Range

Connection is made through screw terminals that accept standard wiring style. The connector accommodates cable diameters from .325 in to .93 in, allowing a range of conductor sizes without adapter sleeves. The straight orientation keeps the cable run inline with the panel or enclosure face. No cap or cover is included, so the installer must provide strain relief or environmental sealing if the application demands it. Builders who need a right-angle body or integrated cord grip will need a different form factor.

Brass Contacts and Nylon Housing

Current-carrying parts are brass for reliable conductivity across the 30 A rating. The black-and-white nylon body resists impact during installation and service. The unit weighs .3 lb and measures 2.500 in length, making it compact for panel layouts where space is limited. No software, drivers or configuration tools are involved — this is a purely mechanical electrical accessory. Users who expect smart monitoring or remote diagnostics will not find those features here.
