Watertight locking plug rated 30 A, 600 V AC with NEMA L17-30P configuration, chemical- and impact-resistant thermoplastic housing accepting 0.375–1 in cables via screw terminals
The Hubbell HBL28W77 is a straight-orientation locking plug rated 30 A at 600 V AC for three-phase industrial power connections. Its NEMA L17-30P configuration provides three poles and three blades in a polarised housing designed for demanding job-site and plant environments.
The yellow thermoplastic elastomer shell resists chemicals and mechanical impact while maintaining a watertight seal during normal operation. Screw-terminal wire connections accept cables from 0.375 in to 1 in diameter, allowing secure termination without specialised crimping tools.
The straight body suits inline cordsets or panel-mount installations where a right-angle exit would interfere with adjacent equipment. Polarised blades prevent mis-mating, and the industrial-grade construction tolerates repeated connect-disconnect cycles in harsh conditions.

Strip conductors, insert wires into the screw terminals matching the L17-30P phase arrangement, tighten screws securely, then assemble the housing and tighten the cable gland to seal against the 0.375–1 in diameter range; the missed step is fully seating the gland to maintain the watertight rating.
Inspect the thermoplastic elastomer housing and blades for cracks, discoloration or corrosion; verify the screw terminals remain tight and the cable gland seal is intact; replace the plug if the housing is damaged, blades are worn, or the watertight seal can no longer be achieved.
The 30 A, 600 V AC rating is the primary limit; sustained operation at 30 A will cause conductor and terminal heating, so the thermal capacity of the screw-terminal connection and cable size becomes the limiting factor before the plug housing itself fails.
