Hubbell 074-01-028 Aluminium Cord Connector

This liquid-tight cord connector provides strain relief for cables measuring 1.13 in to 1.25 in diameter. It connects to a 1 1/4 in MNPT box entry and uses a straight aluminium body with a stainless steel mesh grip. The assembly is CSA and UL listed for electrical installations.

Build Quality and Daily Use

The aluminium body and stainless steel mesh resist corrosion while gripping the cable securely across the stated diameter range. A 5 5/8 in external strain relief length reduces bend stress at the connection point. The insulated design is absent, so installers must follow grounding requirements for the enclosure.

Upgrade Context

This connector replaces non-strain-relief fittings where cable pull-out or flex fatigue causes downtime. The jump is worth it when the cord diameter falls within 1.13 in to 1.25 in and a 1 1/4 in MNPT threaded hub is present. It is not suited for smaller cords, larger hubs, or installations requiring an insulated throat.
