White Duplex Receptacle

The Hubbell BR15WHI is a 15 A 125V AC duplex receptacle designed for standard residential and light commercial branch circuits. Its white nylon housing and flush-mount format suit finished walls where a clean, single-gang appearance is required. Polarised slots and a grounded configuration support common 125 V plug types. The device carries CSA, Federal Specification W-C-59 and UL 498 certifications.

Upgrade From Un-grounded Or Worn Outlets

This receptacle replaces older two-wire non-grounded outlets or damaged three-wire units that no longer grip plugs securely. The jump is worth it when a circuit already provides an equipment-ground conductor and local code calls for a grounded 5-15R device. It also satisfies the NEMA WD-6 and Federal Specification W-C-59 requirements that some renovation permits demand.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous 15 A loading the nylon housing and internal contacts maintain stable temperature rise within the limits defined by UL 498 and CSA C22.2 No. 42. The straight-blade 5-15R configuration resists plug withdrawal vibration better than worn legacy outlets. No GFCI function is present, so downstream ground-fault protection must be provided separately where required.

Yes, it is a single-gang device with flush mount type and NEMA 5-15R configuration, designed for standard wall boxes.

Which wiring terminals should I use for the three conductors?

Connect hot to the brass screw, neutral to the silver screw, and ground to the green screw; the receptacle is polarized and grounded with three wires.

Does the nylon housing resist cracking if I need to replace the cover plate later?

The nylon housing is impact-resistant and the unit meets UL 498 and CSA C22.2 No. 42, so normal cover-plate changes will not damage it.
