Square Box Cover for 50A Receptacle

This galvanized-steel cover fits a single-gang square electrical box and provides a 2.30 in diameter opening for a 50A twist-lock receptacle. It adds 7.3 cu in of wiring capacity with a 1/2 in raised depth. The gray finish matches standard industrial environments.

Installers needing a UL/CSA listed cover for 50A

Electricians running lower-amperage circuits or requiring multi-gang configurations will need a different cover. The single-gang layout also limits use where two devices share one box.

Raised 1/2 in depth and 7.3 cu in capacity

The extra volume eases wire bending and connector placement behind the receptacle. UL/CSA listing confirms the cover meets recognized safety standards for the specified application.

Questions about this item

What receptacle rating and hole diameter must the existing box accept for the HBL50SC cover to fit?

The cover is made for a 50A twist-lock receptacle and has a 2.30 in diameter hole, so the box must accommodate that device and opening.

Will the 1/2 in raised depth and 7.3 cu in capacity work with the wiring already in my square box?

The cover adds 1/2 in of raised depth and provides 7.3 cu in capacity, giving extra room for conductors in a standard 4 in square box.

How can I confirm the cover is correctly installed and rated for the circuit?

Verify the gray galvanized steel cover sits flush on the 4 in square box, the 2.30 in hole aligns with the 50A twist-lock receptacle, and the UL/CSA markings are visible.
