Hubbell HXJ5EEI modular jack

The Hubbell HXJ5EEI is a Category 5e modular jack in an Electric Ivory finish. It is designed for voice and data terminations in office or home networking installations. The jack uses a 1-punch termination method for quick wire seating. It mounts into compatible Hubbell Series wall plates for a flush appearance.

Fits Hubbell wall-plate openings

This jack snaps into standard Hubbell Series wall-plate apertures, so it works with existing faceplates and surface-mount boxes from the same range. The plastic housing keeps the unit lightweight and the Electric Ivory colour matches common office décor. The 1-punch tool requirement means installers need only a single punch-down tool, freeing up tool-belt space during large cable runs. It is not suited for shielded or Category 6 and higher cabling systems.

Questions about this item

How many times can I re-terminate the 1-punch contacts on this CAT5e jack before performance degrades?

The jack uses a single insulation-displacement contact per conductor; each re-termination cuts fresh metal, so reliability drops after the first punch.

Does the plastic housing get warm when the jack carries continuous data traffic?

The jack is a passive component with no active electronics, so it does not generate measurable heat during normal network operation.
