3/4 in LB conduit body

The KILLARK LB28 is a gray iron conduit outlet body with a 3/4 in threaded hub. It provides a 90 degree turn for IMC or RMC raceways in hazardous locations. The flat back design mounts against surfaces while the LB style allows straight or right angle pulls. Duraloy 8 powder coating protects the iron from corrosion.

280F and 280S compatible covers

The body accepts 280F or 280S covers to seal the 8 cu in interior after wire installation. Covers are not included with the body and must be sourced separately. Selecting the correct cover ensures the assembly maintains its hazardous location rating. The threaded hub connects directly to 3/4 in conduit without adapters.

Threaded hub limits installation options

The 3/4 in threaded connection requires matching conduit threads and cannot join to non-threaded raceway types. Flat back mounting needs a suitable surface and hardware not supplied with the body. The 90 degree orientation fixes the pull direction so planning must account for the bend radius. Hazardous location approval applies only when assembled with listed covers.

Questions about this item

Does the powder-coated finish on the iron body need recoating after years in a hazardous location?

The Duraloy 8 powder coat is the factory finish; any recoating would follow site maintenance schedules, not a manufacturer interval.

Will the 8 cu in body capacity limit the number of conductors I can pull through this LB?

Yes, the 8 cubic-inch capacity sets the maximum fill under NEC rules for the trade size and conduit type used.

How hot does the iron conduit body get when IMC or RMC runs full load all day?

Iron dissipates heat from the conductors inside; the body temperature follows the cable loading and ambient conditions in the installation.
