Liquid-tight cord connector for 0.63–0.75 in cables

The Hubbell SHC1037 accepts a single cord with a diameter between 0.63 in and 0.75 in and terminates in a straight 3/4 in MNPT hub. Its aluminium body provides a liquid-tight seal without external strain-relief hardware. The yellow gland colour code aids quick identification on site. It is suited for electricians and maintenance crews wiring wet or dusty enclosures.

No external strain relief included

The connector ships without an external strain-relief component, so the gland itself carries the mechanical load. Installers must ensure the cord jacket is compatible with the aluminium gland and that the 1 1/2 in box-to-end length fits the enclosure depth. There is no insulated throat, so grounding continuity relies on the metal-to-metal hub connection.

Certified to CSA LR27378 and UL E54218 (M)

The device meets Canadian Standards Association listing LR27378 and Underwriters Laboratories listing E54218 (M) for liquid-tight cord connectors. These standards cover the sealing and mechanical performance of the aluminium body and gland assembly. The straight 3/4 in MNPT thread limits use to enclosures with matching threaded entries; it cannot adapt to other thread forms without additional fittings.

Questions about this item

How often should I replace the aluminum body of the SHC1037 connector?

The aluminum body is a permanent installation component with no scheduled replacement interval; inspect the gland and threads during routine maintenance for signs of corrosion or thread damage.

What limits the cord diameter range when the connector is used continuously?

The gland seals cords from .63 to .75 in; exceeding this range prevents a liquid-tight seal and is the first limitation under sustained use.

Does the yellow gland on the SHC1037 indicate a temperature rating for all-day operation?

The yellow gland provides visual identification and seals the stated cord range; no temperature rating is marked on the connector itself.
