Threaded plastic bushing insulates 1-1/2 inch RMC and IMC conduit connections, UL 514B listed
This RACO insulating bushing fits 1-1/2 inch threaded rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit. The plastic body provides a smooth, insulated entry point that protects wire insulation from sharp conduit threads during pulls. UL 514B listing confirms compliance with safety standards for conduit fittings. The gray finish identifies the fitting in standard electrical installations.
The plain plastic construction resists deformation during typical wire-pulling friction and ambient temperature swings inside conduit systems. No moving parts or mechanical joints mean zero operational noise and no power draw of any kind. The lightweight design at 0.02 lb adds negligible mass to the raceway. UL listing verifies the material meets flammability and temperature requirements for enclosed conduit runs.
Female 1-1/2 in NPT threads engage the conduit end without additional adapters or clamps. The 15/32 in overall length and 2 3/16 in square profile sit flush inside standard boxes and enclosures, preserving wiring space. Compatible with threaded RMC fittings for a complete raceway system. Buyers needing non-threaded or larger trade-size entries will require a different fitting.

Thread the bushing onto the conduit until the 15/32 in shoulder seats fully; the step often missed is tightening to UL 514B torque so the insulated throat stays aligned.
Inspect the gray plastic for cracks, UV embrittlement or thread wear after overloads; replace the bushing if the insulated throat shows damage or the 1-1/2 in threads no longer seal.
The 0.02 lb plastic body will deform at the threaded throat before the steel conduit yields, so mechanical pull-out resistance is the first limiting factor.
