RACO 235 30.3 cu in Electrical Box
The RACO 235 is a 4-inch square electrical box with a 30.3 cubic inch capacity designed to enclose wiring, switches, receptacles or lighting fixtures. It is built for residential or commercial installations requiring a two-gang configuration. The welded construction provides a rigid enclosure for standard electrical work.
Galvanized Steel Build with TS Bracket
Constructed from 1/16 inch pre-galvanized steel, the box resists corrosion in typical indoor environments. It features nine 1/2 inch knockouts and five TKO knockouts for flexible conduit entry. A TS bracket allows direct mounting to wood or metal studs. Cover mounting screws are assembled for immediate installation.
600V Rating Without Bonding Jumper
The steel enclosure is suitable for use without a bonding jumper in circuits up to 600V, simplifying grounding requirements. The welded seams maintain structural integrity during installation and long-term use. The pre-galvanized finish protects the metal surface throughout the service life of the box.

Questions about this item
What voltage rating does the 600V listing on this RACO 235 box actually cap in practice?
The box is rated for circuits up to 600V and is suitable for use without a bonding jumper at that voltage.
What physical opening does the TS bracket on this 2-gang square box require for mounting?
The TS bracket is designed for flush mounting to a stud or joist; the box itself measures 4 in. square and 2-1/8 in. deep.
How is the RACO 235 installed, and which step do installers most often get wrong?
Mount the box via the TS bracket to the framing, knock out only the 1/2 in. KO or TKO entries you need, then fasten the cover with the assembled 8-32 screws; a common error is removing more knockouts than required, which weakens the box and violates fill calculations.
