  • Approved for Class I Div 2 and Class II/III hazardous locations
  • Reusable sealing washer and locknut simplify maintenance

1/2 in. liquid-tight conduit connector

The RACO 3402 is a straight, non-insulated fitting that joins flexible metallic or Type B non-metallic liquid-tight conduit to a box or enclosure. It is rated for indoor and outdoor use and approved for Class I Division 2, Class II Divisions 1 and 2, and Class III Divisions 1 and 2 hazardous locations. The zinc-electroplated steel body provides corrosion resistance in damp or exposed environments. Electricians and maintenance crews use it to secure conduit runs in commercial and industrial installations.

Thermals noise and power draw

This is a passive mechanical fitting with no electrical consumption, no moving parts and no heat generation. It creates no audible noise during operation and adds no load to the circuit. The connector simply maintains a sealed, grounded pathway between conduit and enclosure. No thermal management or power budgeting is required.

Split gland-ring and reusable hardware

An innovative split gland-ring forms a positive seal that resists conduit pull-out while allowing disassembly. A sealing washer and heavy-duty locknut are supplied in the package so the fitting is ready to install without extra parts. All components can be removed and reused if the conduit run is altered or relocated. The design reduces installation time and eliminates the need to source separate sealing hardware.

Questions about this item

How do I install the RACO 3402 conduit connector and what step is often missed?

Thread the connector onto the 1/2 in. liquidtight conduit, then tighten the split gland-ring and locknut; the sealing washer must sit flat against the box face or the seal will leak.

What maintenance or replacement will the RACO 3402 connector need later?

All components are reusable, so no scheduled replacement is required; inspect the zinc-electroplated finish and split gland-ring periodically for corrosion or wear in harsh environments.

What limit appears first on the RACO 3402 connector under sustained use in wet or hazardous areas?

The electro-zinc coating is the first barrier to degrade; once the plating is compromised, corrosion can reach the steel body and weaken the gland-ring seal.
