Hubbell SHC1024 Aluminium Cord Connector

The Hubbell SHC1024 is a straight liquid-tight cord connector machined from aluminium. It accepts a single cord with a diameter between .50 and .63 inches and terminates in a 1/2 inch MNPT thread for box mounting. The gland is colour-coded brown and the body is silver. No external strain relief is fitted. It carries CSA LR27378 and UL E54218 (M) listings.

Suited for single-cord entries needing

This connector fits panels or enclosures where one cable from .50 to .63 inches must pass through a 1/2 inch MNPT opening and stay sealed against moisture. Installations that require external strain relief, multiple cables in one fitting, or an insulated throat should select a different model.

Handles one cord up to .63 inches in a 1/2 inch

The connector comfortably secures cords within the .50 to .63 inch range and threads into a standard 1/2 inch MNPT hub. It runs out of capacity if the cable exceeds .63 inches, if more than one conductor must share the fitting, or if the application demands an integrated strain-relief clamp or an insulated bushing.

Questions about this item

What cord diameter range does the SHC1024 accept for a proper seal?

The connector is rated for cords between .50 in and .63 in diameter, matching the brown gland colour code.

Will the 1/2 in MNPT thread mate with my existing steel junction box?

Yes, the straight aluminium body uses a standard 1/2 in MNPT box connection that threads into typical steel or aluminium boxes.

How can I verify the connector meets code after installation?

Look for the CSA LR27378 and UL E54218 markings on the silver body; they confirm the listing for liquid-tight use.
