Hubbell Incorporated UGR2-20231QW 20 A 120 V 60 Hz straight blade plug

SKU CH-AWN6-557M9

A hazardous-location receptacle rated 20 A, 120 V, 60 Hz with copper-free aluminium housing and stainless-steel screws

  • 20 A 120 V AC rating supports heavy-duty equipment
  • 60 Hz operation matches standard North American power frequency
  • NEMA 5-20R configuration ensures correct mating with locking plugs
  • Copper-free aluminium housing resists corrosion in harsh environments
  • Powder-coated finish adds durability against chemicals and abrasion

Hazardous-location 20 A 120 V receptacle

This receptacle is built for hazardous-location wiring where a 20 A 120 V AC 60 Hz supply is required. It suits industrial or classified-area installations that demand a NEMA 5-20R straight-blade configuration with a dead-end 3/4 in hub. The copper-free aluminium body and powder-coated finish resist corrosion in harsh environments. It is not for general-purpose residential outlets or low-voltage control circuits.

Dead-end hub mounting with stainless screws

The unit mounts in a single-gang box using the supplied stainless-steel screws and the 3/4 in dead-end hub entry. Installers must follow the applicable hazardous-location code for conduit sealing and grounding. The most common issue is omitting the required seal-off fitting or using standard hardware that compromises the NEMA 7 rating.

Verify classification and hub orientation

Before ordering, confirm that the area classification matches NEMA 7 requirements and that a 3/4 in dead-end hub suits the conduit layout. Check that the 20 A 120 V 60 Hz rating aligns with the branch-circuit protection and that the mounting box is rated for the same environment.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the receptacle is wired correctly after installation?

After mounting in a single-gang box and tightening the stainless-steel terminal screws, apply power and confirm a 120 V AC 60 Hz reading across the two poles with a multimeter; the NEMA 5-20R face should accept a matching 20 A plug without binding.

What components are included with the UGR2-20231QW and what must be sourced separately?

The receptacle body with powder-coated copper-free aluminium housing, dead-end 3/4 in hub and stainless-steel mounting screws are supplied; a single-gang mounting box, conduit, wire and a NEMA 5-20P plug are not included.

Which version of this hazardous-location receptacle should I select for a 20 A 120 V circuit?

The UGR2-20231QW is the only model listed; it is rated 20 A, 120 V AC, 60 Hz, 3-wire 2-pole NEMA 5-20R with a 3/4 in dead-end hub, matching that circuit requirement.
