Hubbell Wire Cap Connector for 0.38-0.50 in Cords

This Hubbell liquid-tight cord connector accepts a single cable with a diameter between 0.38 and 0.50 inches. It mounts into a 1/2 inch MNPT box opening using a straight aluminum body. The gland is colour-coded blue for quick identification during installation.

Aluminium body runs cool

The all-aluminium construction dissipates heat naturally without added bulk. Because the design omits external strain relief, the connector maintains a compact 1 1/8 inch profile from box face to end. No insulation layer is present, so thermal transfer is direct and predictable in normal use.

Replaces open knockouts

Use this connector when a sealed, code-compliant entry is required for cords in the stated diameter range. It is not suited for cables outside the 0.38 to 0.50 inch window or for installations demanding integrated strain relief. The jump is worth it when UL E54218 and CSA LR27378 listings are specified.

Questions about this item

How do I install the HAWA SHC1023 connector onto a 1/2 in MNPT box entry?

Thread the straight aluminum body into the 1/2 in MNPT opening, insert a single cord between .38 and .50 in diameter, then tighten the gland until the blue color code ring seats firmly against the body.

What part of the HAWA SHC1023 will need replacement after extended service?

The blue gland nut and internal sealing ring are the wear items; replace them if the cord diameter grip loosens or the liquid-tight seal degrades.

At what cord diameter does the HAWA SHC1023 reach its sealing limit under continuous vibration?

The connector is rated for cords from .38 to .50 in; sustained vibration at the upper .50 in limit will challenge the gland seal first.
