Full-Size Mechanical Keyboard

The HyperX Alloy Origins is a full-size wired mechanical keyboard with 104 keys in a black finish. It uses a polycarbonate panel and gasket-mounted structure for a consistent typing feel. The board features per-key RGB lighting with 16777216 colours and five brightness levels. A braided USB-C to USB-A cable measuring 1.8 m connects the keyboard to the host system.

Hot-Swappable Linear Switches for Enthusiasts

This keyboard suits users who want to customise their typing experience because the hot-swap PCB accepts 5-pin switches without soldering. It comes fitted with HyperX 2nd Generation linear switches offering a 40 g actuation force, 1.8 mm pre-travel and 4.0 mm total travel. Buyers who prefer tactile or clicky feedback out of the box, or who need a compact layout without a numeric keypad, should look at other models.

8000 Hz Polling and On-Board Profiles

The 8000 Hz polling rate delivers rapid input reporting for competitive gaming. Full key rollover and 100 % anti-key clash ensure every press registers during intense sessions. On-board memory stores up to 10 profiles so lighting and macros travel with the keyboard. Media controls provide quick access to volume and playback without leaving the game.

Questions about this item

Do I need a free USB-A port on my PC or console for the 1.8 m braided USB-C-to-USB-A cable?

Yes — the keyboard connects through a 1.8 m braided USB-C-to-USB-A cable, so an available USB-A port is required on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One.

Will the gasket-mounted polycarbonate panel and hot-swap PCB still work if I keep my existing keycap puller and switch opener?

The gasket structure and hot-swap 5-pin PCB are compatible with standard keycap pullers and switch openers, so your current tools will work for maintenance or customisation.

How can I verify the 8000 Hz polling rate and per-key RGB are active after plugging it in?

Open the HyperX NGenuity software; it reports the live polling rate and lets you confirm each of the 16 777 216 colours across all 104 keys at five brightness levels.
