Reliable USB wired keyboard for daily office work

The IBM 41A5289 SK-8825 is a refurbished wired keyboard built for standard desktop use. It connects through a USB interface and requires no additional drivers. The unit suits office staff, call-centre agents and home users who need a dependable text-entry device.

Replaces worn membrane keyboards

Upgrading from a failing board restores consistent actuation and removes the frustration of missed keystrokes. The jump is worth it when the current keyboard shows physical wear, intermittent connectivity or a damaged cable that cannot be repaired.

Full-size layout handles long documents

The 17.80-inch width provides a complete key set including a numeric keypad for spreadsheet work. It runs out of headroom for users who need programmable macro keys, backlighting or a compact form factor for limited desk space.

Questions about this item

How much desk depth does the 1.30" x 17.80" x 7.30" keyboard require?

The unit is 7.30 inches deep, so allow at least that much flat space plus room for your hands.

Which way should the USB plug be oriented when inserting it into the port?

Align the USB connector with the port; it only goes in one way — forcing it upside down bends the pins.

How often should the keycaps be removed for cleaning on the SK-8825?

Remove keycaps every few months with a puller to clear dust; avoid liquids near the membrane.
