900 GB 10K SAS laptop drive

This 900 GB 2.5-inch laptop internal hard drive spins at 10000 RPM and uses a Serial Attached SCSI interface. It is built for server workloads that demand fast sequential access and includes hardware-based AES 128 encryption for data-at-rest protection. The drive is supplied new in retail or OEM packaging with installation documentation and a safety flyer included.

Compatibility check before ordering

Verify that your system provides a 2.5-inch SAS bay and a 6 Gbps SAS controller such as the ServeRAID M5015, M5014, M5110, M1115 or M1015 with an appropriate advanced feature key. Confirm the chassis can supply adequate cooling for a 10K RPM spindle and that the firmware supports self-encrypting drive management. This unit is not suitable for SATA-only ports or consumer laptops lacking SAS backplanes.

Build integration notes

The drive fits standard 2.5-inch SFF slots and connects directly to a compatible SAS backplane or HBA, freeing a 3.5-inch bay for other uses. Its self-encrypting design offloads encryption overhead from the host CPU while meeting compliance requirements for sensitive data. No separate tray is mentioned, so ensure your enclosure provides the correct mounting hardware for a bare 2.5-inch SFF unit.
