IBM 60G0879 50-pin SCSI CD-ROM drive with caddy

This new IBM drive uses the Toshiba XM-3401B mechanism and connects through a 50-pin SCSI interface. It includes the caddy required for disc loading. The unit is suited for legacy workstations or servers that still rely on this bus.

Fits systems with a 50-pin SCSI connection

Buyers whose hardware lacks a 50-pin SCSI controller cannot use this drive. Those needing DVD read or write capability must choose a different model. Users without a caddy mechanism in their workflow gain no advantage here.
