ICY DOCK flexiDOCK MB521SP-B 2.5 SATA SAS Data Converter

Hot-swap bay for 2.5 SATA SAS drives

The ICY DOCK flexiDOCK MB521SP-B is a tray-less mobile rack that converts a single external 3.5 bay into a hot-swappable slot for 2.5 SATA or SAS hard drives and SSDs. Drives from 5 mm to 15 mm height are accepted without tools or screws. A soft blue LED shows power and activity status. The metal body includes ventilation and Active Power Technology powers the bay only when a drive is present.

Suits media editors and IT techs who swap bare

It suits professionals who need rapid, tool-free access to high-capacity laptop drives or fast SSDs for editing, data recovery or backup rotation. Builders who require internal mounting brackets, multiple bays in one unit or support for drive heights beyond 15 mm should look at other solutions. The door-less design also means no front bezel protection for environments that demand a closed fascia.

Single external 3.5 bay accepts 2.5 drives

The decisive specification is that one standard 3.5 front bay houses any 2.5 SATA or SAS drive up to 15 mm tall, including 5 TB-plus models. This width and height envelope determines whether your drive collection will fit without adapters or spacer brackets.
