2.5 to 3.5 drive tray

The ICY DOCK ToughArmor MB998 EZ-Slide Nano Tray is a replacement drive caddy designed for the ExpressCage MB741SP-B mobile rack. It allows a single 2.5-inch SAS or SATA hard drive or SSD to be mounted securely in an external 3.5-inch bay. The tray is sold as a new component for server and workstation maintenance.

Suits single-drive SAS or SATA upgrades

This tray suits administrators replacing a damaged caddy or adding one spare 2.5-inch drive to an existing MB741SP-B rack. Builders who need multiple drive bays, hot-swap functionality beyond the single slot, or support for drive interfaces other than SAS and SATA should look at a different enclosure solution.

Rack-mount form factor for MB741SP-B

The tray uses a rack-mount form factor engineered specifically for the ICY DOCK ExpressCage MB741SP-B mobile rack. Compatibility with that model is the specification that determines whether this part fits the target system.

Questions about this item

Will this MB998 tray fit the 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives I already use in my MB741SP-B rack?

Yes, the MB998 tray is built for 2.5-inch SAS and SATA drives and slides directly into the MB741SP-B mobile rack that mounts in a 3.5-inch bay.

How can I confirm the tray is seated correctly once I slide it into the rack?

The EZ-Slide mechanism clicks firmly into place; the drive activity LED on the MB741SP-B rack will light when the drive is powered and communicating.

Does the package include mounting screws or only the tray itself?

Only the MB998 tray is supplied; screws for securing a 2.5-inch drive inside the tray are not included and must be sourced separately.
