ID TECHNOLOGIES
A POS keyboard with integrated magnetic stripe reader and USB HID interface for secure payment entry
The ID TECHNOLOGIES IDSK2-535E is a point-of-sale keyboard designed for retail and hospitality environments. It integrates a magnetic stripe reader to capture payment data at the counter. The unit targets merchants who need a single peripheral for both data entry and secure card transactions.
As a USB HID device the keyboard draws power directly from the host terminal without an external supply. Passive operation keeps acoustic output negligible in normal use. Thermal load remains low during continuous transaction processing.
The SREDKey 2 designation indicates built-in encryption for cardholder data at the point of swipe. Enhanced format output structures the data for downstream payment applications. These integrated features remove the need for separate encryption middleware or a standalone card reader.

Connect the USB cable to the host; the HID interface is recognised automatically, but the magnetic-stripe reader will not function until the enhanced format option is enabled in the POS software.
The magnetic-stripe head wears with use; plan to clean it with a cleaning card regularly and replace the reader module if read errors increase.
Continuous high-volume swiping can overheat the reader head, causing temporary read failures until the unit cools.
