Radio replacement harness for 2007-2016 GM vehicles retains steering-wheel controls, OnStar, chimes and factory amp while displaying engine data on compatible touchscreens
The iDatalink HRN-HRR-GM5 is a radio replacement harness built for select General Motors vehicles produced between 2007 and 2016. It provides the necessary wiring interface to install an aftermarket head unit while maintaining the vehicle's factory electrical systems. This harness is intended for owners upgrading their stereo without losing integrated vehicle functions.
The harness requires a separate Maestro ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 module to function correctly. When paired with that module, it retains steering wheel audio controls, OnStar capability, safety warning chimes, and the factory amplifier. It also enables the display of engine performance data on the touchscreen of compatible Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Sony, and Pioneer receivers.
An in-line head-unit connector eliminates the need to splice wires, allowing a plug-and-play connection with compatible radios. The harness uses a universal connector on the radio side and is designed for use with Maestro head-unit adapters or conventional connections. Installers must verify the specific vehicle application using the manufacturer's fit guide before beginning work.

The Maestro ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 module is a separate electronic component; its service life depends on operating conditions and is not tied to a fixed replacement interval for this harness.
The harness is a passive wiring assembly with no active circuitry, so it has no thermal shutdown limit; the connected Maestro module and head unit define the system's temperature ceiling.
The harness itself produces no noise and draws no power; all current draw and any fan noise come from the head unit and Maestro module it connects.
