Yellow Wing Wire Cap Connector

The Ideal 30-451 twist-on connector joins copper conductors from 18 AWG up to 10 AWG in a single yellow housing. It accepts a minimum of two 18 AWG wires and a maximum combination of three 12 AWG or four total conductors. The polypropylene shell carries a UL 94 V-2 flammability rating and is both UL Listed and CSA Certified for 600 V applications.

Sustained Load Performance

Under continuous operation the connector is rated for a maximum temperature of 221 Degrees F, reflecting the steel contact and zinc finish stability at the 600 V limit. The wing design provides mechanical leverage so the joint remains tight when cables are pulled or vibrated in conduit runs. No fill material is used, so the connection relies solely on the spring bite and insulation displacement.

Thermals Noise And Power

The device is passive and draws no power, producing no audible noise during normal use. Heat rise stays within the 221 Degrees F ceiling as long as the wire combinations do not exceed the stated AWG limits. The V-2 rated polypropylene insulation resists ignition and self-extinguishes if exposed to flame. Installation requires only a twisting motion by hand or with standard linesman pliers.
